Book Review - A Fist Full of Charms

A Fist Full of Charms

by Kim Harrison

Rating *** (3 stars)

A Fist Full of Charms is the fourth book in The Hallows series. While the book is an important part of the series it did not live up to the high caliber of the first three books.

Matalina, Jinks' wife, appears and makes a plebe to Rachel. Their oldest son ran off with Rachel's ex boyfriend, Nick, and has called asking for help. He is stuck in the cold of Montana, and Jinks is going to risk his life to rescue him.

The book did not seem as consistent as the other three novels. We all of a sudden find out that Pixies only live to be twenty years old, Jinks is 18. The cold weather disappears for a few days and then reappears. Even then Jinks' son seems to handle it just fine. I found myself dragging on finishing the novel, it took me a few days. I was not as excited to pick it up and read.

If you have already made it to the fourth book in the series, you still need to read this book. It is slow and may leave you shaking your head, but some very crucial moments happen. It is not even that the book is bad, it is just average, unlike the amazingness of the first three books.
