This is a nonfiction level 2 early reader book that is part of the I Love Reading! series. This book is a great book for your developing reader. The book is full of adorable photos of puppies of a variety of breeds.
The pages have between one to two sentences, and between two to four lines of text. It is not overwhelming, however there are some larger words such as excellent.
It is a great book, perfect for your reader who is enthusiastic about dogs or puppies. However, the book did loose half a star because the information provided is often very basic. More fact, or rather any facts, could have helped readers to develop their nonfiction reading skills. That being said, it is a great place to start learning about puppies, especially taking care of a puppy. It will not provide all the information that a child would need to know.
