How the Grinch Stole Christmas

By. Dr. Seuss

Rating *****(5 starts)

L has been a huge Dr. Seuss fan for years. For her seventh birthday we hosted a Dr. Seuss party complete with her adult size Horton stuffed animal. Last year we went and saw Seussical the Musical for her birthday.

I was overjoyed that Dr. Seuss books were finally released for the Kindle. About a third of the books we have in paper format are currently Dr. Seuss books. While we will not be getting rid of those books anytime soon, we are purchasing new Dr. Seuss books electronically now.

This year we purchased How the Grinch Stole Christmasand read it during Christmas. The story is now a classic. A mean Grinch can not stand the sight of all the Whos happy during the Christmas season, so he decides to ruin it. Although, when the Whos continue celebrating Christmas without any of the commercialism he realizes the true meaning of the holiday - in the non Christian sense. It is about joy and happiness and family. His heart grows bigger and he goes and joins the Whos in their celebration.

It is an amazing story which captivates and teaches in the way that only Dr. Seuss can. This is one of his best works!
